APOLLO 26 ANTIQUE VERY OLD GOLDEN STEIFF BEARApollo is a fabulous example of a large 26 Steiff bear from the late 1940’s-mid 1950’s. He is fully jointed with mohair fur, glass eyes, the longer muzzle of the earlier bears. His felt paw pads are original and good for his age, with a well done darned repair to the felt on one foot pad. His black floss nose, mouth and claw stitching is original. His thick golden mohair is excellent for his age with amazing coverage for his age, with only a small area to the top of the back of his right leg with a small area of lost fur. His tilt growler no longer works. This beautiful bear is a rare example of a large Steiff bear with the traits we love in the old Steiff – the longer muzzles, arms, large feet and the most adorable character. He really is a stunning bear a very beautiful handsome bear.
