Pixie A rare Large 23 Old Vintage Antique Pixie Bear. Condition is Used.
A beautiful rare Pixie bear in a lovely large 23 size. Gorgeous bright golden mohair with only a few thinning patches on front of feet and above eyes. Yellow felt pads which are original but the foot pads have been sympathetically backed with modern yellow felt under originally felt and are cardboard lined. Few tiny holes to hand pads. Original webbed claw stitching to hand pads (partially missing on one). White alpaca inserts to ears (original) and glass eyes and embroidered nose look original too. Pixie Bears was founded in 1930s in Stourbridge UK. They hired a designer who used to work for Merrythought factory do her influence can be seen in the webbed claw stitching. The company closed in 1962. I think this is an early Pixie bear (1930s) because of claw stitching and cardboard lined feet. Pixie is a wonderful example of a rare bear!
