A stunning antique toy for a collector.
Unusual four legged glove puppet of a little bear cub.
Straw-filled head, lustrous soft brown mohair fur body, corduroy ears, snout and paw pads. Metal boot button nose. Cellulose eyes.
Excellent condition. Clean and undamaged. Fabric is in excellent condition (Stitching is strong and intact. No moth holes. No rips or tears. No repairs.) Slight scuffing to the metal nose.
There is a definite hump in the back of this bear (see photographs) which may indicate that this is a very early example.
No manufacturer’s labels. The letters FO have been stamped faintly in black on the inside of the fabric.
Length (from top of head to bottom of cuff): 12″ (30cms) approx.
