1910 – 1930STEIFFBEARApprox measurements: 14″ tallI just love this little bear as they are all just a little bit different, unfortunately the ear button has been lost so with my limited knowledge I do not know the maker but do believe he is a steiff due to his characteristics. Any information would be very much appreciated. He dates from around 1910-1930s This woodwool filled bear measures 14″ tall, his head, arms and legs are all jointed, with his arms having wrists. He has an adorable face with boot button glass eyes and a pointed clipped muzzle. He has a black stitched nose, mouth and claws with felt pads on his hands. The bottom of his feet are reinforced with cardboard under his fabric soles, presumably this is so once he could stand up. There is a growler in his tummy but this is not working. He has a small hump at the top of his back but this is lacking a little filling. His mohair fur is very thick with only a little loss in places.The condition of this little bear is in need of attention, he has been loved and repaired a few times during his long life. their is a temporary repair to the underside of both his feet, one of which has his cardboard sole missing, his right foot needs to be restuffed and his left foot needs a little at the ankle, his right arm and pad is in good condition with a little stuffing loss at the shoulder, his left arm has come off the joint at some time and been badly repaired, the joint is still there in good condition, so his left arm needs restuffing and putting back on its disc joint, the pad of that arm has had a temporary repair to stop any more loss of woodwool also looks like his left ear has been reattached, this all sounds a lot worse than it is and would be a good restoration project with the outcome of a lovely early bear, all listed to be accurate.I DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS UNLESS IT HAS BEEN GROSSLY MISREPRESENTED TO PREVENT SWAPPING, SO SERIES BUYERS ONLY PLEASEAny questions please ask well before end of auction to give me time to reply as I am selling this on behalf of someone else.INTERNATIONAL INTEREST PLEASE REQUEST POSTAL COSTS FOR YOUR COUNTRY BEFORE PLACING A BID If I have significantly overcharged on postage a refund will be issued unless stated as free, I do not charge for materials and the price on the packet is the price you pay.If you feel uncomfortable with the price I have charged for postage, then please refrain from this item.
