Early Farnell’s Alpha Toys velvet doll, modeled as nightdress case,
dating from 1930s, bearing original woven label,
body is made of red and pale brown velvet and silk, head of brown velvet,
stuffed with kapok throughout the body,
has got jointed head,black mohair hair,
original brown painted side glancing eyes with black painted eyelashes and eyebrows,painted smiling mouth with teeth showing,
two red dots in nostrils,
Farnell’s Alpha Toys label can be found stitched to the right foot pad.
Doll is approx. 19″ (48 cm) tall.
Condition – item is in original vintage condition with some general wear, discolouration to velvet and wear to silk; rub to the tip of nose and left cheek (please see pictures).
