~ Very RARE 1940’s Dean’s Rag Book Ming Walking Panda – Label Old Antique Teddy Bear – with provenance.
Introducing Snoopy! Snoopy is a very rare Panda made by the British Company Dean’s Rag Book around 1949. Snoopy is what’s known as a Ming walking panda.
He is around 16inches long and around 9.5inches tall. He’s in lovely all original condition. Fully stuffed with woodwool, covered in white and black mohair, stitched nose and mouth, stitched claws, original leather pads (with minimal wear which is amazing for saying he’s a walking panda) and painted back glass eyes.
Snoopy also has his Dean’s Rag Book Label, original red leather collar with lead; the name plate has been left blank and instead he has a fabulous little name tag of his own where he was christened “Snoopy” … “B Hinne, 20 Bangor Road, Wallasey” – which is a lovely bit of provence and you can see exactly where he used to live!!!!!
As mentioned Snoopy is known as a walking panda, this is because his feet are heavily weighted .. so it means that using his lead and collar you can take him for a walk adn on the right surface yo can kind of see him waddling! I can only imagine this has left many children with happy memories of their walks with Snoopy.
He is a very special little poppet and it’s rare to come across them, let alone in good lovely condition. So now Snoopy is looking for a new home to while away the hours with and maybe find a new special friend.
