A beautiful 1940’s Merrythought teddy bear. It is all original with typical Merrythought stitched nose, amber glass eyes, golden mohair, slight upturn arms, felt paws & foot pads. Foot label absent but the stitches remain on left foot. It has straw stuffed head and kapok stuffed body, arms and legs. Large size approx. 21 inches from head to toe. The condition is very good over all for a bear in this age. There is some stitches on the top of right ankle (see photo 9). The amber glass eyes are on the wire but I noticed while I was taking the photos that the previous owner has tried to secure them on the bear with some glue. It can be removed but I rather leave it. The reference books I am using are 20 years old and the value of the similar 50’s bear was 475 at the time. Please check all photos carefully for the condition of the bear and make sure you are happy with what you are buying. Grab yourself a bargain.
