Old vintage teddy bear.This old vintage bear has been named Fred. He is a sturdy English bear made by Deans in the 1950s or early 60s. As you may see from the photos, he’s been “through the wringer” a bit, giving him a tatty charm.Fred measures about 18 inches long, he is stuffed with kapok throughout the body, the head having a wood wool filling. Fred’s paws are brown velvet with his right paw being worn ( I can just imagine him being dragged around by it …) As with any old fellow, Fred’s joints are a bit loose or stiff; his right arm is loose but still quite well attached, his right leg has a wound, and his head is jointed, but seems to be stuck !As you can see Fred has a “characterful” face with worn and repaired features. Oh and his golden mohair is thinning rather a lot, at least to the front.All this being said, Fred holds himself together, like any old English gent.Tatty charm is what he has… Fred is not intended to be used as a toy as he does not have safety features associated with modern teddy bears. He is intended to be a Collectable bear.
