Old Vintage Antique Teddy Bear. Vintage Merrythought Teddy Bear.Cuthbert is a vintage Merrythought teddy bear who is 20 inches tall. He dates from the 1930s, and he is in very poor shape indeed ! As noted in the sellers notes , he is; Considerably love worn, aged and shabby. Crudely repaired in many places.Some significant holes, barely holding together in places. Completely bald .Having said that he still proudly bears his Merrythought button in his left ear which is intact.Cuthbert has replaced glass eyes, stitched nose and mouth, crudely replaced paw pads (with the left and right not completely matching) and is jointed five ways , his right arm may be being held on by the stitches shown , and he has a hole in the arm pit area there. He definitely need to be handled with care. His front has a large graze where his kapok filling is showing through and his stuffing has shifted somewhat in places. Cuthbert’s face has a story to tell too, it looks like he has either had a few punch ups or a run in with a family dog at some point….All this being said, he would make a great restoration project, or his aged and shabby appearance could just be left as is… With bags of character and a long history.Despite his terribly shabby condition he holds himself together like any old English chap.
