1930’s Merrythought bear with label and celluloid button.
This Merrythought bear dates to circa 1930’s and is 19″ tall and
is five ways jointed with all his joints working well. He is stuffed with kapok
in his body and and head with just a little wood wool in his muzzle and
although he has been loved, he is still in good condition with almost all of his
original features intact, apart from his replacement vintage eyes,
which suit him very well.
He has blonde mohair with some overall thinning and small bare area areas
but I would estimate he has retained approximately 85% coverage overall.
His felt pads are in generally good condition with just a few small holes but no
other damage and he has webbed claw stitches on each paw, of which one is
original and one a later replacement. There is embroidered Merrythought
Hygienic Toys label on his left foot pad and a celluloid button in his right ear
dating him to the 1930’s.
This lovely Merrythought bear is being offered
