This fantastic pull toy composition/papier mache duck sits on tin wheels with a nodding head
and painted details. The body, head and base have been moulded from papier mache and the duck
measures 15″ from beak to tail. It is in generally good and sturdy condition but the rim around the
neck is fraying and the wire hook which attaches the nodding head to the body needs to be positioned
carefully in place. There is a little bit of damage at the end of the beak and tail and the paint has rubbed
off in places but it is a very charming folk art toy. I would date it to circa 1930’s but it could be earlier
possibly dating back as far as 1900 and it would display very well alongside other antique toys.
