A gorgeous, post-war English Twyford teddy bear, with printed sideseam label c.1964-70s. Twyford was the trading name of Acton Toycraft Ltd, which was taken over by J.K.Farnell in 1964, and Twyford Works was the name of their factory. In minty condition, with a loud working squeaker in his back, Mr Valentine has the signature, vivid red felt pads introduced by Farnell after the Second World War. They also produced bears with bright blue pads under the Twyford label.
Mr Valentine is completely original and measures 36 cms (14″) tall. He has amber lock-in safety eyes and a black, hand-embroidered nose and mouth. Made without claws, he’s soft-stuffed with woodwool in his head, and has a cute, upturned protruding muzzle. Fully jointed, Mr Valentine has kept pretty much all of his thick, luxurious gold mohair and is a very fine teddy. He comes wearing his lovely handknitted waistcoat, with pretend pocket watch and little red hankie. This bear is keen to win your heart! Thanks for looking.
TRACKED POSTAGE TO EUROPE IS 11.00 GBP, AND REST OF WORLD 15.00 GBP.
