This is an adorable Large Vintage ‘Pedigree’ Golden Bear, made by Pedigree Soft Toys, a company evolved from Triang Toys by the Lines Brothers. This handsome Golden Vintage Bear was made post 1955 / 60’s in Belfast N Ireland, is fully jointed, with head and all limbs rotating well at 360*, he can sit independently without support and has the clear identifying label ‘Pedigree Made in N Ireland’ stitched into his back. Standing 70cms high, has a body girth of 65cms, and weighs approximately 2.5kgs, he has a beautiful golden fur, amber eyes with a pupil to the centre, a stitched black silk nose and inverted ‘Y’ shaped mouth. To each ear he has a bell which is apparently far less common than the squeaker to the stomach, is well filled with what appears to be wood wool and kapok, definately not foam rubber which later Bears had as filling. All limbs have a softer filling than the head and body, with each arm and leg having velvety pads. Considering this gorgeous bear is over 50years old he is in very good condition, has no holes, splits, damaged stitching, worn areas or defects. Very desirable to vintage bear collectors / enthusiasts and would make an ideal Christmas / Special Occassion gift or a well deserved personal treat.
