Vintage antique growler teddy bear.”Humphrey” is a 19 inch growler vintage teddy bear, possibly a German or Austrian bear. He has lovely blonde mohair, although this has become patchy in coverage over the years but has good coverage to the head back and legs.Humphrey has original stitched features and glass eyes which may have been replaced. The most distinguishing feature about him is his rather healthy growl ! The tilt growler being in good working order. His paw pads have good plush coverage and his inset muzzle is shaved.All in all this bear is in remarkably good shape for his age, having a small split to his right inner armpit which is not visible unless you pull his arm apart, (depicted in photo) so some TLC or repair could be administered if desired but wouldn’t be a necessity by any means. Care should simply be taken when moving him, not to lift him by one arm!The bear shows signs of age and lovewear, is not intended to be used as a toy as it does not have safety features associated with modern teddy bears.
