Stunning huge early Invicta teddy bear, which is pretty rare to find, dating from late c.1938,
made of pale peach mohair,
feels to be stuffed with kapok and wood-wool throughout the body and head,
fully jointed,
has got clear and black glass eyes with remains of brown painted backs,pronounced up-turned muzzle,
original vertically stitched nose with nostrils, inverted Y shape mouth stitching,
original rexine pads in very good condition,
very unusual three webbed claws stitching to paws,three claws stitching to feet,
has got large inoperative cardboard squeaker in tummy.
Teddy Bear is approx. 26″ (67 cm) tall.
Condition – item is in antique condition with minor general wear and thinning; joints are fine; stuffing sagging a little bit in limbs.
Please note, his ears appear to be original, despite being made of different type of wool plush.
