This cutie is about 15″ tall, it has a bit chubby, stocky body frame with larger thighs, a hump; all limbs are with their original felt pads in a bit tarnished peach color and the upper paws have a spoon-like shape.
The arms do not have quite the same length/shape and th. The swivel joints of the limbs and the head work well and I took photos of the teddy in standing and sitting positions to illustrate its flexibility.
The growler roars.
It has a centre seam and all his stitching is intact, has a lush golden mohair, I cannot define what his stuffing is – whether it is straw or kapok but it is hard to touch.
His eyes are made from glass in brown and black circles; the nose is stitched black thread, as are the mouth and the claws BUT the claws are only THREE! The ears are arched. No printed label.
The muzzle is very cute and not as pronounced as most teddies have and in places some of the mohair has reseeded.

So, I emailed Hermann and they confirmed that it was one of theirs, so did the expert of one of leading auction houses in London, dating it back to the 60’s. In my opinion it is older than that, as its asymmetry makes me think that it was handmade. No more place at home and sentiments aside, I think someone else will step in and adopt it. I cleaned it as much as I could following the recommendations. No hazardous chemicals were used.
