Lovely Antique Teddy Bearand original illustration of Bears in a House by Claire Fletcher
this bear belonged to Claire Fletcherwell-known wonderful artist from Hastingsalso here in this listing is an original signed ink illustration by Clairellustration size is 10 inches x 10.5 inches (26 x 28 cm)
I visited her studio in Hastings a few years ago,I bought this original ink illustration of a house with bears insideall looking out through the windows,and I spotted this beautiful bear sitting in her studio.He had been a model for her for many yearsfor all her lovely illustrations and paintings, and he wasn’t for sale, but when she later had a sort outand decided to sell some items, I managed to buy him from her.
this bear is from the 1940s or 1950s
he is a golden beige colour mohair, straw-stuffed5 way jointed all joints work well
He is 18″ tallhis pads are original beigehis eyes are orange and black glassoriginal stitched nose and mouth
his plush is golden and fluffy with thinning a bare patch to forehead and a smaller bald patch on the right shoulderand the right ear is a bit bare too…. please see photos for condition
