I have no idea of this little cat’s maker. He has the crooked mouth reminiscent of the Einco mouths, or even the mouth used on the Harwin teddy bears, though I’m not sure that Harwin & Co ever made animals.
He is straw-filled throughout, and is made from a short pile black bristle mohair, with black felt ears, and would date to the 1920s / 30s.
He has green glass eyes (clear glass with green painted backs), all original beige coloured nose and mouth stitching, and filament whiskers.
He is in a sitting position, and is jointed at the neck only. This allows his head to swivel so he can be seated either way, or looking to the front.
There is a non working squeaker in his base.
The cat is in very good condition for his age, with full mohair coverage, though the felt ears are wearing a bit thin with age.
He likes nothing better than sitting in the window on a nice sunny day, watching the world go by! He’s a quirky little character, with a smile that guarantees he always gets what he wants!!
