Ernie..Lovely old antique Steiff teddy bear.Missing his button,however this lovely old ted has all the characteristics of early Steiff bears.Dating around circa 1915 and measuring 14″from pads to tip of his head.Long snout and boot button eyes.Long arms with over half stitched clawing intact.Replaced pads which are basic, but sturdy and strong.Mohair has tones of cinnamon in the joints which has now faded to golden mohair else where.They are areas of wear with balding however still retains a fairly good amount else where.As images show missing some stitching to nose and mouth.Packed tightly with wood wool with some kapok added to pad areas.All joints turn and are firm.Ernie is not for the perfectionist however he has lots of old bear charm and such a kind and wise face.He is strong and sturdy and displays beautifully with other antique toys.Any questions please ask..
