Daisy: Lovely Old Antique Teddy
Daisy is a funny little teddy bear, probably made around 1940.She’s a real cutie-pie of a teddy and stands around 43cm/17inches, with a straight slender body, chunky little arms, and stubby feet on the end of her legs.Her ears are set on the corner of her head, and at some stage in her life, she’s lost one and had the other split to create a second one. She’s got nice clear glass eyes and a delicate shaved-muzzle.Daisy has lost some of her long curly mohair over the years but she’s still got plenty left, and is quite fluffy. She’s also managed to hang on to all of her mouth, vertical nose, and some of her paw & feet claw stitching.Daisy’s pads probably used to be velvety but are now worn down to the cotton backing. They don’t have any holes though. She’s firmly stuffed with what feels like a mixture of woodwool and kapok and her joints are tight. She has a non-working growler rattling in her tummy and at the top of her right leg she has a split that would benefit from a few stitches.All in all Daisy’s a furry little bear, who’s looking for a new home in time for Christmas. She’s pictured sat in front of our Christmas tree, along with several of his teddy buddies, all of whom are available to purchase separately in my other listings.
