~ Chorley -Super RARE 1930’s Alpaca Farnell Cuddly Teddy Bear – Big Old Antique
This very cute chunk of a fluff ball is Chorley. He may look like a modern cuddly bear .. but he isn’t .. and that makes him special.
He’s a very rare J K Farnell Teddy Bear made in England in the 1930’s. He was created as part of their aim to create more cuddly teddy bears as a contrast to their stiff sometimes less inviting for younger children teddy bears.
He’s fully jointed, almost fully stuffed kapok but his head has more woodwool in, and stands around 27inches tall. He’s in all original condition with lovely large glass eyes, stitched nose and mouth, hand and foot claws and great condition felt pads.
Chorley is a fluff bucket as he’s smothered in dense alpaca fur which i’ve not wanted to fiddle with by doing any extra cleaning etc but i’m sure he would brighten up even more should you wish to do so, i find he smells lovely so i didn’t feel the need. It’s crazy how fluffy and cuddly he is, I would say his alpaca is a beigey golden slightly apricot colour. He has clearly been completely treasured and adored by his previous owner.
SoOo Chorley now finds himself getting all modern on the world wide web on the hunt for a lovely new owner who will adore him, brush him and possibly give him the odd squidge.
