THREE DELIGHTFUL LITTLE ANTIQUE LUSTERWARE (NON MATCHING) BONZO DOG SALT & PEPPER POTS
These three charming little antique Bonzo d0g salt and peppers pots lost their ‘other halves’ long ago . . .
although they are non matching, they make up a delightful trio and display beautifully.All three measure approximately 3 inches in height and are made of lusterware porcelain. All three dogs are identically moulded but differently glazed.The white dog and the orange Salt dog are marked underneath ‘MADE IN JAPAN’ which means they pre date the orang Pepper dog which is marked ‘FOREIGN’.
The white dog has a surface hairline in the glaze of his right foot, as shown in the listing photos, but this is only surface deep, it does not go all round his foot, it only affect the glaze itself. However, apart from this very minor age related issue, all three little dogs are free from damage and in very good clean condition.
Non of the trio retain their original cork or rubber ‘stoppers’ but as they stopped being condiments many years ago and are now purely decorative, it makes little difference.
