BEAUTIFUL OLD ANTIQUE ‘SPITZ’ DOG
This lovely vintage ‘Spitz’ dog no longer has his makers label to identify him, but is thought to be of German origin, made by Hermann sometime around the late 1940’s – early 1950’s.He measures approximately:
15 inches in height (to top of head)
9 inches in height (to his back)
14 inches in length from nose to tail.He is made from dense pile white art silk? plush, except for his legs, paws and inset muzzle which are made of short pile beige art silk plush. His art silk is beautifully clean, soft and shiny, and retains excellent coverage. His ears are lined with pink felt and he has a little red felt tongue. He is filled entirely with wood wool, which is very firmly and evenly distributed, and has a non functioning growler located in his body. He has no repaired, torn or leaking seams, and no strange or dusty odours of any sort, He has (original) sewn in painted back brown glass eyes. He has a very small neatly closed split in the felt at the tip of his right ear (there is no loss to the felt) which is approximately 7mm in length and is only visible under close scrutiny in bright light, but apart from this extremely minor issue he is in excellent condition and very hard to fault.
He is a very good quality, beautifully made dog with a great deal of charm.
