Sadly I am having to break up my collection of old toys and bears as moving home and no longer have room for them all.During World War One many British Soldiers used tobe given a little bear by their sweethearts and loved ones. These bears had eyes that were high up on their heads which peeped out of the soldiers’ top pockets.This little fellow I believe to be a SteevansSoldier bear? Not many were made as they were not in production for as long therefore a rarer find than the traditional Farnell Soldier Bear.
He has been through the wars literally;however he is not in bad condition for his years. He is made of gold mohair,pin jointed head, arms and legs with black boot button eyes, has lost some of the fur on his face but still has quite a good coverage on body, arms and legs.He is in original condition no repairs.He Measures approx 5 from head to toePlease see pictures for condition and wear and happyto answer any questions.
