This gorgeous, well loved bear belonged to my elderly neighbour. I estimate that he must be around 1930 given her age but don’t know a lot about him.I have been told that he is possibly a Merrythought but collectors will be able to identify him straight away.
He seems to have a squeaker (not working)in his tummy, a small tag on his front, and a label on his paw which is a little difficult to read. Given he’s an old man I think he’s in pretty good condition. He has one tiny hole at the bottom of his back but he isn’t falling apart and looks fairly clean.His eyes are firmly intact and his nose is as new.
His two little glamorous friends have always lived with him on the shelf, so it seemed a shame to split them up now. The brunette has one leg missing but both have very pretty faces and I’d assume are possibly 1950’s.
I would really love him to go to a good home where he will be appreciated and treasured as his original owner did.
