Chenille figure of a white monkey wearing a fez and a red waistcoat. I believe historically, monkeys wearing a fez often appear to be displaying mischievous behaviour and this one appears to be holding a chicken.
He has a metal hook on his back so is also suitable for hanging and stands on a gold painted wooden circular base and can be displayed standing if preferred.
I believe this possibly dates from around the 1930s or even earlier. I have had it for over 20 years and it was old when I bought it but I have stored it carefully, away from sunlight and it is still in very good condition with vibrant colours. There is however some long-standing slight fading to the fez as can be seen on the photos. Please see all the photos for condition as they are an important part of the listing.
