This is my lovely antique / vintage bear which I bought from a specialist antique bear centre about 20 years ago. The lady told me at the time that he is probably Pedigree. There is no button in his ear but there is a mark where I’m guessing one could have been, which I have tried to show in one of the photos.
I am listing him as 1940s because this was the estimated age given by the specialist.
He has a lovely friendly face. He has golden fur still remaining in places but is quite bald elsewhere.
He has original pads to his hands and feet which still feel velvety mostly, but with some bare patches.
He is fully jointed. His arm joints are sound but a bit loose.
He has a growler which still works very slightly.
He is quite big – 18 inches.
It looks like his nose and mouth have been resewn at some point, although I can see what I assume is his original nose underneath. There are a few stitches in one arm and one heel. Otherwise I can’t see any signs of repairs.
His body and snout feel hard and I think are straw or woodchip. Other areas feel softer.
A reluctant sale of this bear and also another, due to having to reduce storage space. Looking for a good home where he will be loved!
