A beautiful antique Steiff teddy bear from around 1907 with stunning expression. He is 14 inches tall and retains his ff button in ear. His stitching is all original with four claws to each foot and claw, his top nose stitch is slightly broken and one of his mouth stitches is partly hidden by fur but is fully present. He has original boot button eyes, is filled with wood wool and his felt pads are in very good condition, with just a couple of nibbles to his right hand pad. I think he must have a growler in his tummy, but this is no longer growling. His mohair has now faded to a creamy colour over his lifetime. He has some loss of mohair to his forehead and backs of legs, still retaining mostly good coverage – he is still in lovely condition, particularly considering he is well over one hundred years old.
