A charming and much loved hump-backed antique teddy bear, he has no IDs but I personally feel he’s likely a Steiff – I’ve seen similar Steiff bears with buttons – those bears also had such narrow snouts(like this guys).
He’s almost entirely bald, he once had a golden coloured mohair coat. An inoperative growler can be felt rattling within his tummy. The thread detailing he had for his nose and mouth are long gone, his ears have come off in the past and been restitched on – the backs of the ears have also been patched over with some unoriginal brown felt(this same felt has also been patched over his front paw pads – possibly by a child! The repair stitching is very amateur looking, which adds to his worn old charm). He also has holes in the pads of his back feet, I believe those pads on the back feet are his original pads. He is 5 way jointed, he’s a splendid old chap(who’d tell you many stories of days gone by, if only he could!)
He measures 27.5cm high (when in his seated position – if you’d like him to pose standing, it can be done but he must be leaning on something else for support). Smoke free home. Pricing is based on what I’ve witnessed similar old bears in his condition without IDs sell for. As always, please inspect all the photos as I’ve highlighted every detail and imperfection I could find.
