This is a very unusual vintage open mouthed teddy bear . It is fully jointed and has rexine pad. It is gold mohair which is lovely but has a small bald patch on the front of its body. What is unusual about this item is that it has two levers at the back which when pulled together opens the bears mouth it also makes the bear nod when pulled . The levers are metal. Not sure if the handles are glass of plastic – the same with the eyes. There is a small label lon the foot half of which is missing which says made in republic ………. Seems to be stuffed with kapok? The pads having cracking on them due to age but does not detract from the bear. The mouth has a red insert which is stained inside the beginning of the mouth. A lovely clean little bear
