RARE ANTIQUE GERMAN STEIFF RIDING BEAR BUTTON IN EAR MADE 1949* Very rare and hard to find *
LARGE STEIFF RIDING BEARVery hard to find old Steiff riding bear with a large Steiff button in ear in capital letters. Dates him to being made 1949. Made of silk plush on an iron frame with wooden wheels. Original collar, pull growl still works. Height 44cm (17”) to top of his hump, length 58cm (23”)
For his age and type he is in well above average condition one of the best we have seen.
As many have suffered major fur loss and damage due to the many years of riding they have given.
He has glass eyes, red collar made of a coated material used to replace leather after WW2 when materials in short supply. His nose stitching has been redone in parts/filled in where he has stitches missing. His mouth stitching is original but had come lose so has been refixed. He has some wear to his fur see photos, but for his age he is in well above usual found condition and a very rare Steiff.Very heavy for size so would be expensive to post overseas.Please see our photos they are a big part of our descriptions.
