This is very handsome large teddy measuring approx 27″ tall. He dates circa 1930, has Chiltern characteristics such as a round head and a large torso and kapok stuffing, he also has Terry characteristics such as the large glass moon eyes, high round ears and a shaved snout. Though I’m leaning more toward Chiltern I cannot fully identify him as I cannot find another snout with the same nose stitching (information welcome). He is in good condition and his growler is situated in his front chest area, it is still working. There are patches of hair loss mostly to the upper leg area though he is pretty well covered. His pads look original, there are thread bare areas around the edges of the feet pads. Through this the kapok stuffing is visible though there is woodwool in the head and torso also. He has no nasty odours.
