Adorable vintage mohair toy monkey with hat & chair – Steiff?
An absolutely adorable vintage mohair monkey – I was told he dates to the 1930s, and that he is a Steiff monkey. I know very little about vintage bears and animals, and cannot say whetehr or not he is Steiff, but couldn’t resist his cheeky demeanour. He came to me with the vintage felt hat and chair, and I am selling him together with these. His mohair fur is rubbed and timeworn, and one paw has opened at the seam,. His tail is still in place. One ear is missing (his previous owner called him Van Gogh becuase of this missing body part!) He has glass eyes. He is 36cms tall (just over 14 inches).
