2 French language Dean’s Rag Books:
1). UNE POULE SUR UN MUR – Designed by Felix Lorioux,
this is a large size rag book (284mm x 235mm) which was
only published in French.
Dating from 1924 to 1928 the book has 14 pages in 8 colours
A traditional story is told through words and pictures.
The book is in excellent condition/as new/unused and has a
bound and zig-zagged main seam with crimped top and bottom edges
Printed on a soft thick cotton fabric with extremely clear printing.
2). LUCKY TUB / LES JOUETS – This small size rag book (140mm x 110mm)
was illustrated by Evelyn Gladys Hall and illustrates various toys
with their names in both French and English alongside.
The book is numbered 243.
It has 10 pages in 7 colours and was in print from 1925 to 1928.
The main seam is straight stitched and the edges crimped.
Condition is very good but with a small stain on the back cover.
