This lovely short golden mohair bear was made by Merrythought just after WW2 and retains his maker’s label sewn into his left foot. The label dates him to just after the WW2 and states “Merrythought, Hygienic Toys, Made in England”. Features: 16″/40.5 cm tall, fully jointed, mohair with original twill fabric paw pads, soft stuffed with a hard stuffed nose, brown glass eyes, black stitched nose and mouth and shaven muzzle. He has black claw stitching to his feet and hands and from research I have discovered that the minimal 3 stitches across the tips of the pads were on account of materials being hard to come by after the war. He retains 85% of his mohair fur with only slight balding near seams and a little thinning in places. He has benefited from a little restoration to replace the squeaker in his tummy and it works beautifully. He really is absolutely charming
