1937 Farnells Alpha Toys vintage feltKing George VI Doll FarnellsAlpha Toys King George VI Doll with original label to the underside of the leftfoot (15.25 inches/39 cm tall).Firstmanufactured in 1937 when Farnell added an extra wing to their premises to makenew patriotic lines for the Coronation.KingGeorge VI is made of good quality wool felt and has a finely detailed uniform,painted facial features, separately stitched fingers, legs jointed at the hipand woodwool stuffing.Heis in good, but play worn, condition for his age with no signs of fading to thebright red and blue of his uniform. There is a small hole/tear to the bottom ofthe rear left leg and similarly to the front of the left shoe and where thetrouser meets the shoe. There is wear to the uniform in a couple of places butno actual holes. The face is a bitgrubby in some places but overall a very presentable doll ready for display.
