You are bidding on a Very Cute Vintage /Antique Yes / No Monkey which I believe to be by Schuco, but maybe Steiff, although there are no makers labels. He moves his head by how you move his tail, he is a large version I have only found small versions, so think he is a rare find. He has amazing character despite his faults, i.e worn/balding fur and fur worn through by where you hold the tail, so he has been well played with as shown from wear around the neck and tail area. He is stuffed with wood Wool. He is a very lovely lovable Monkey who with two other Monkey Mates are looking for a new home. I am no expert so Please ask any questions or for more photos / Measurements for you to decide. This Monkey was part of a family collection of Dolls and teddy Bears, which vary in age, some are from the 1900s others from early 2000. I am happy to combine postage to spread the cost, please look at all my other items.
Condition – Cuddled & LOVED – Wear to fur, especially around the metal ring around the neck area, and tail place where you hold to make him do his Yes & No. The mechanism is controlled by the tail, the left to right shake of the head always works, but the up and down yes nod has to be in the right position and then it works fine, the felt areas on Face and hands are in good condition with only minor wear, there is some wear to seams, but considering he is approx 80yrs he is pretty good. In last photos I have tried to show the head movement – Please see close up flash photos.
