I believe this teddy bear dates from late 1940’s or early 1950s. He has been well loved and this is apparent in his condition. He is 12″ tall and head, arms and legs are all jointed. One eye is missing, the other appears to be glass or plastic. The felt pads on his arms are completely worn away and those on the feet are in reasonale condition. The Chad Valley label on the left foot has been machined on with a running stitch and under the royal crest is written ‘By Appointment Toymakers To …The Queen. I think there is a short word where I have put the dots but I cannot decipher it. Down the centre back the original stitching is not present but has been rather crudely replaced with some hand stitching. There are areas that are now threadbare including the tips of his ears. The stitching on his nose and mouth are in good condition for the age. The colour of this teddy is as shown in the pictures.
He comes from a smoke free home.
