Meet Toby, the Ting-a-ling bear, made by Chiltern. He is a cute 14″ tall and has a lot of his light golden mohair remaining, with a few age-related worn patches here and there. He has his original amber glass eyes and original nose and mouth stitching. Best of all, his ting-a-ling bells are in working order and he makes a lovely tinkling sound when you move him. His snout and ears are in a shorter, shaven mohair, which is a little worn around his nose. He has his original upper paw pads (looks like rexine) with three original claws stitched on each paw. His foot pads, however, have been replaced with pale peach/flesh coloured felt and it looks like his feet have been stitched in places, too. He no longer has the card inserts in his pads to help him stand up. He is very firmly stuffed (wood wool?) right down to his toes, which are filled with something softer. His arm and leg joints are all moving smoothly (disc jointed) but his head seems to be fixed in place – there are a couple of stitches under his chin which might account for this. He’s probably from sometime in the 1940s-50s.Toby is a lovely little bear who is looking for a new home. Sorry, I will only post within the UK. Will post on the nearest Saturday to receipt of payment.
