Cute little Chad Valley teddy bear dating from the mid to late 1950’s, as illustrated on page 105 of The Teddy Bear Encyclopaedia by Pauline Cockrill. He has his original label sewn into his side seam under his right arm, rexine pads to his short arms and legs with flat feet. His gold mohair is just a little sparse in places. His head and part of his body are stuffed with wood wool and his limbs are kapok stuffed – I think I can feel a growler in his tum but it no longer works. He has a cheeky face with black vertically stitched tight-bound nose and amber and black plastic eyes which are probably on wire shanks like glass eyes. He is fully jointed with moveable head, arms and legs which have black stitched toes. He is wearing an old red ribbon around his neck and measures 28cm (11″) tall.
