RARE! Deans Rag Book Pluto (Mickey Minnie Mouse) Antique Old 1930s Teddy Bear – Reg Design No: 790249
This is Pluto!
He’s very very rare! He was made by Deans Rag Book back in the 1930’s. You do come across Dismal Desmond, Mickey Mouse and occasionally Minnie Mouse but for some reason the Pluto’s seem to have mainly gone walkies!
The Buy It Now price reflects the fact that he’s had some repairs over the years by a previous, clearly loving, owner (bandages on his feet – too much walkies), and also a velvet jacket has been added to his tum. To be honest I didn’t even really notice it’s an addition as it ties in beautifully but I assume it’s possibly to aid a repair/wear underneath, I’ve not wanted to remove it as it fit him excellently.
He retains good velvet velour coverage in a lovely honey golden, and black shade – this has often worn away, and his facial colouring and paw prints are excellent. Also when you lift up his little cheeks you can see his tongue and throat and teeth (in cotton).
He’s a lovely item to behold and grows on you tremendously the more you look at him. He will travel to his new home with his own 1940’s Mickey Mouse comic.
He’s fully stuffed with kapok, with wired legs and tail, and is around 12 inches long nose to tail.
He has the Deans Ragbook “label marking” to his body displaying his registered design no; 790249.
He would make a lovely addition to any teddy/toy collection.
