What a handsome couple these make! This is a pair of peg wooden Grodnertal dolls dating to late 19th /early 20th century and both dressed splendidly in their Edwardian style clothes.
They measure 11 inches .
The man wears a striped blue and white blazer and tie, and felt trousers. He also has a straw boater hat, which is a little bit fragile in places.
The lady has a wonderful cream dress with lace and bead trim. Her hat is lace trimmed with colourful cloth flowers. To finish her ensemble she carries a little lace parasol with a carved wooden bead end.
Both dolls are jointed. The man’s joint movement though is restricted by his trousers, and the lady’s legs are very stiff.
A lovely example , and so nice to have been kept in such good condition over all these years.
