Massive character mohair antique fox or wolf cubwith large/long feet and long paws, shoe button eyes,4 claws on each paw and feet, pointed nose and prominent hump.Stitched nose and mouth and all the stitching is a lovely light brown/ochre, I would say he has about 80% to 90% fur coverage, pointy ears just like a fox and a clunking noise in his stomach of which is a growler that doesn`t work any more rolling aroundand made a space for itself over the years!It sounds like a huge original growler!`Mr Fox` as my family have called him is so unusual and I have never seen another like him.Perhaps his fur could have been white at one stage in his early lifeand that might explain his light coloured stitching to his nose mouth and claws..(Arctic Fox?)As you can see his paw pads have been replaced at one timeand his mouth and nose are missing a small amount of stitches.I cannot see a label of some kind.Mr Fox is a heavy solid boy, his feet are something to behold! The length!Long and narrow like his paws.I can see a small mend of stitches to his left arm half way upstitched in the same colour as his claws etc.He can sit and stand, arm joints are tight.Mr Fox has a bit of a neck; unusual for a teddy.He can turn his head more easily than the arm joints.
If you would like to collect a rather rare and unusual antique teddy/fox then here he is and he will be missed and we hope he has a loving home and delight someone else with his huge character!

ANTIQUE BEAR CIRCA 1910 ONE EAR BOOT BUTTON EYES SMALL OLD VINTAGE OVER 100 YEAR

Lovely little bear who is over 100 years old. Height 13 inches. Fully jointed. Manufacturer unknown. Original boot button eyes. Non working growler. There are the remains of the original nose stitching. The paw pads have old repairs and have been re-covered at one point. She is missing some of her mohair in parts. She also has just the one ear! The wood wool filling has shifted over the years. She has had some old repairs done at one time. Strips of velvet have been added. I have not attempted to remove these. I’m sure these repairs could be improved upon by someone more skilled.I have owned her for many years. She wears vintage fine knit clothes. A cute lemon cardigan with a green dress. She has a silver coloured ‘ski’ brooch. I will also include the modern sledge.Please look at the photos and ask any questions you may have. Comes from my smoke free home.I post within the UK only.
