1930’s Merrythought black & white mohair panda teddy bear.
This lovely little Merrythought ‘Panda’ teddy bear dates to the 1930’s and is 13″ tall and five ways jointed with all his joints working smoothly so he can be nicely posed. His body,
limbs and head are stuffed with kapok, with wood wool in his muzzle with a non working press squeaker in his tummy. He has been loved, as you can see from the photos, but he has still retained 99% of his black mohair plush and 75% of his white mohair plush, with
overall thinning and some small bare areas on his tummy and back where his squeaker is.
These bare areas are not very noticeable as they blend into his backing fabric and do not
detract from the character and charm of this lovely panda bear.
All of his original features are intact, including his amber and black glass eyes and his black
cotton thread nose and mouth stitching and his black felt paw pads have a couple of small
holes which are not too noticeable and are not leaking any stuffing. He has an embroidered ‘Merrythought Hygenic Toys Made in England’ label and a ‘Regd. Design Label No. 821561’
His arms have been set quite high so he looks like he is shrugging with an endearing and
slightly startled expression. He would make a lovely addition to any hug of bears.
Panda is being offered with a very low starting price and no reserve to the highest bidder.
