Old English vintage teddy bear.This old vintage bear has been named Doris. She is a sturdy English bear made in the 1950s or early 60s. As you may see from the photos, she’s been rather well loved giving her a tatty charm.Doris measures about 13 inches long, so is quite small . She is soft stuffed probably with kapok throughout the body and head , having a wood wool filling in the snout. Doris’s paws are in good condition and her lovely blonde mohair is clean though sparse and balding throughout, especially on her tummy and back. She has a mark on her snout, but it looks rather like a birthmark ! She is five way jointed with firm , if a bit stiff joint connections. She has Amber coloured plastic eyes and stitched features.Doris also has a snag or two on her dress, at the back right shoulder and under the left arm. Her dress was chosen for her and is not original, but I think she looks lovely in it! All this being said, Doris holds herself together, like any old English lady. Tatty charm is what she has… Doris is not intended to be used as a toy as she does not have safety features associated with modern teddy bears. She is intended to be a Collectable bear.
