Loved but extremely lovable Chad Valley red mohair ‘Tubby’ teddy bear.
This wonderful Chad Valley Tubby bear has been very loved as you can see from the photosbut he has a lovely expressive face and is a great bear to hug as my partner can attest as she was very reluctant to let him go today. He stands at 14.5″ tall and is completely wood wool stuffed with a jointed head and arms which have now been sewn into place or are completely loose as shown.
His nose has been heavily darned and his paw pads were recovered in a plaid material a long time ago and are now holey themselves, revealing the stuffing underneath. He is also missing one of his glass eyes, his mouth stitching and most of his nose stitching and has lost most of the blonde mohair on his head, and yet, despite all of this, he is the most adorable looking bear and has retained a pretty good coverage of his bright red mohair plush. I am sure he is going to appeal to those of you who like their bears to be loved but with lots of charm and character and he is quite a rare bear too and would make a wonderful addition to any hug.
