Large 1919 Antique W J Terry Bear.A gorgeous well stuffed wood wool bear.He is 23 inches high.He has cupped ears, one could do with re stitching.Joints are good apart from one arm which does not turn as it has been sewn in at sometime.Non working growler Mohair is good with a small amount of wear mainly to face.Split on his foot pad.Small split on leg.Centre seam.Eyes secure but a little wobbly.Please study photos.He has been in my collection for many years.Terry bears are rare and hard to find.William Terry produced the first Teddybears in 1912.They ceased trading before the Second World War in the 1930,sA good true English Bear.I tracked a similar one down that sold at Bonham Auction for over a thousand pounds.
