HUMP! Antique Loved old Bear toy on Wheels ideal for Teddy doll to sit on TLC?
This is Alan! He’s an antique weighty!!! old toy along bear who’s been played with and loved very much. He’s now looking for a new home with someone who can continue to show him some love.
I don’t know who made him, but by looking at how he is made with old previously painted back eyes, and old metal and old rubber type wheels and fully firmly stuffed with woodwool it would make me think he has a good age to him of possibly around the early 1930’s? – although I just don’t know.
He stands 13 inches tall from his wheels to top of his hump, is approximately 17 inches from his nose to his bottom.
As mentioned Alan rides on a metal platform, has four metal and old rubber wheels, a lovely BIG hump, stitched mouth, possibly previously velvet nose and old previously painted back glass eyes – all seem original. He’s actually attached to his stand via lines of cotton wrapped into his feet, so he would definitely come off his stand very easily should you prefer him to relax on the floor amongst his teddy chums.
He’s a characterful Bear who in my opinion would compliment a toy collection beautifully, and be fantastic for a doll or Teddy Bear to ride on or a lovely window display in an old shop! He would also make a satisfying restoration project should you wish to really bring him to life again.
