This is ‘Rusty’, a gorgeous red Cocker Spaniel dog, with beautiful long pile reddish brown mohair, made by Farnell in the 1920’s / 30’s
He has large clear glass eyes with painted backs. One pupil is slightly larger than the other, so one eye may be a replacement, but I don’t know which one would be the original.
His nose and mouth stitching is all original.
He is unjointed, and wood wool filled throughout.
His studded collar round his neck has a brass tag ( with no. 31 on it).
This dog is in very good , clean condition for his age. There are a few small areas of thinning to the mohair, but as the coat is so long and luxuriant , it is easy to brush this in such a way as to disguise these areas.
He has no nasty odours, and comes from a non smoking home.
Rusty is a nice pleasing size too, standing at approx 10 inches high x 14 inches long.
An adorable looking dog with a friendly playful nature.
