This gorgeous novelty toy duck has the red embroidered Chad Valley label between her legs, please see relevant photograph.

She is stuffed with wood wool and is quite hard filled, so is not a cuddly duck. She is made from white fluffy wool and yellow felt and I think is a beautiful, fine quality model of Jemima Puddle Duck, probably dating to the early 1930’s.

I have not seen another Chad Valley example of this lovely toy, so I do not know if she comes from a range of Chad Valley Beatrix Potter characters.

Unusual old 1930’s bear

This is Lilly, my late mother’s old bear. She had her before World War 2 so she is circa 1930’s. She is a fantastic old bear and in great condition for her age. She has been cleaned and her nose and mouth have been re-stitched but everything else is original. She has lovely big ears and her pads are in excellent condition. Her head is stuffed with what feels like straw and the rest of her body is soft. Her growler stil works too when you tip her at a certain angle. Very unusual in a bear of this age.

Delightful Little 13″ Golden Mohair 1920’s Antique American Teddy Bear Some TLC

This darling little antique teddy bear is of American origin and was probably made in the 1920’s. She is not in perfect condition, and does have some flaws, so please do read the written condition report which highlights these imperfections. Even with these signs of wear, I think she has actually survived pretty well, considering her old age.

Amazingly, her growler still works and she makes a really sweet, gentle noise – quite unlike some gruff sounding bears.

She is offered for sale complete with the lovely dress which is possibly about the same age as the teddy.
